Long-time resident of Christchurch, New Zeland and a dedicated community worker, Jharna Dasgupta has worked extensively with New Zealand Red Cross Refugee Settlement programme; she has supported library services for spinal patients and contributed significantly to Christchurch’s diverse ethnic communities. Currently, she provides interpreting services in the health sector. A graduate of Calcutta University with a Bachelor of Law, she is widely respected for her commitment to inclusion, community wellbeing, and helping others thrive.

The heterogeneous population that constitutes today's demographics is the potential playing field for weaving a fabric through cultural immersion.
